History of Rajbari Subdivision:

Rajbari Police Station (P.S) was created in 1988 while the reign of British. Then, it used to be written as Goalando officially. That’s because it was in Goalando. After river breakage it was transferred to Rajbari. Then after when rail station in Rajbari was named as Rajbari Rail Station, the P.S. also turned in Rajbari P.S. Later in 1962 Sripur Circle Office and some other offices were created in the south side of the town. At that time it was a calm place. Besides those offices, some residential facilities were made as well. In 1983 Goalando and Rajbari Circle office were released from Faridpur district and were transferred to Rajbari Subdivision. It was officially affected from 1^stDecember, 1983. Later in 1991 each subdivision was declared as P.S. and Rajbari P.S was made again and in 2000 Awami League Govt. declared all P.S to subdivision and that’s how Rajbari P.S turned into Rajbari Subdivision.

 

Remarkable places:

• D.K shah pond in Kholabaria village of Pachuria union.
• Tolapatro Pond in Baniboho. It was dig by the landlords of that time. The area of the Pond is approximately 18 bigha. Beside this there are some other ponds like Babubari pond, Baniboho Bazar pond.
• Lakkhikol Rajbari pond and Queen’s pond. It was dig in time of King Surjo Kumar. These ponds were source of drinking water at that time. It is said that the queen used to bath in the Queen’s pond so it was named after her.
