Rajbari Govt. High School is the oldest school in Rajbari and it is one of the oldest schools in the whole Bangladesh. The school was established in 1892 A.D. It is said that some landlord gave some of his own land to build the school. The land was more than enough at once. But later the land was divided into two parts and one of them was given to build Rajbari Govt. Girls High School, just for girls. (Rajbari Govt. High school is only for boys.) Before liberation war the school was known as “Goalando High School.” The name changed after Rajbari got the official district administration. The school includes 4 buildings (two storied each). Actually it includes 5 buildings. One of them is from the old one, built with red bricks (landlord style). But that is almost rejected now. No one uses the building for anything other than cycle parking. It looks like this:

The other four are newer than the old one. Classes are held in all four of them. Approximately there are about 1500 students starting from class 6 to SSC. And it has 50 high qualified teachers.

The school is situated at the center of the town. It is the leading high school in Rajbari now. There are currently two shifts for students now. One is morning shift and the other one is called day shift. Before few years there used to be only one shift but for the growing number of students the system has been upgraded (probably in all the schools in Bangladesh).

Like all other schools, this school has co curricular activities. In fact, it has some extra. Beside all common co curricular activities (like sports, cultural program etc) it includes book fair in February, quiz, outdoor games and many more. It has been possible for the teachers and co operation from students and their guardians. The school has a huge playground, big enough for the student to play in it. The school has its own football team, cricket team and of course, the scouts.

The results of the school have been pretty good so far for the students. Best results in the whole Rajbari district come from this school in every year SSC.
