Mir Mosharraf Hossain is one of the greatest writers of all times. He was born is Kushtia in the year of 1847 and died in 1912. Kushtia is his mother’s hometown. His father was from Rajbari and he also lived here for quite a long time. The house is at Padmadi village. It is in Nawabpur union under Baliakandi subdivision. His books includes drama, novel, biography, music, history of theology, poetry and many more. He wrote 35 books on these subjects. Some of his major books are ‘Rotnaboti (1869)’  ‘Jomidar Dorpon (1873)’, ‘Boshonto Kumari (1873)’, ‘Gazi Miar Bostani (1885)’, ‘Udashin Moner Kotha (1890)’ etc. He was awarded for ‘Bishad Sindhu (1885-1891)’. After his death in 1912 he was buried here. Now there is a memorial in his home at Rajbari.
