Qazi Motahar Hossain was an all rounder man. He was scientist, educationist, essayist, statistician, scholar and chess player at the same time. He was born in 1897 in Pangsha, Rajbari. He passed M.A. from the University of Dhaka in 1921. After that he joined as a professor on the same University. He worked in the Institute of Statistical Research and Training Center during the year 1964-1966. He got few awards including ‘Sitara-E-Imtiaz’ (for education and research in 1930), Bangla Academy Award in 1966 and Special Technical Award in the same year. He also got doctorate degree from University of Dhaka in 1974. This great man died in 1981.
